The economic influence of China on Africa has been apparent for some time, has this influence spread into the sphere of climate policy and law? This article considers the development and implementation of Chinese climate change policy and law and whether lessons can be drawn from the Chinese experience and be effectively applied to African countries. The analysis is made against the backdrop of development in China and Africa, Chinese development efforts and co-operation with African countries, and takes into account the wide differences in the levels of economic and social development of those countries.

The analysis of the specialists’ training in the field of the environmental sciences in the Republic of Belarus was carried out. As a result the automated system for the acquisition, storing and processing of the information about the ecological education in the Republic of Belarus was developed.

Study of primary and secondary school environmental educators’ perceptions of sustainable development and its characteristics

In the present study we examine how environmental educators of Primary and Secondary Education conceptualize Sustainable Development (SD) and its characteristics. The data of the research were assembled with the help of a relevant questionnaire. The questionnaires were distributed privately (100) and via internet (3713), to all of the schools of the country, to the administrators of Environmental Education (EE) in Greece and to all EE Centers. 176 filled-in questionnaires were returned. Educators were asked to give an open definition to SD. The results are as follow: 30,7 % of educators did not give an answer to the question. 30,7 % of the educators gave a complete answer to the question.

Hunting management and hunting-related values

Aim of the present analysis is to show how the attitude towards hunting management depends on hunting-related values. 237 standardized questionnaires have been distributed to hunters of Northern Hellas (Macedonia and Thrace) and the data were processed through Pearson test after normality test. Contrary to the hunters who regard hunting merely as a “sport”, these who regard it as a “life way” support long-term, more “eco-centric” and sustainable solutions like habitat improvement and predator control (and not, for example, release of quarries).

Corporate social responsibility: A comparative analysis among Demark, Hungary and Greece

Towards optimal environmental management, a research project that aims at the development of a “framework of indicators for the environment and sustainability of the Greater Thessaloniki Area” has been implemented by the Aristotle University Thessaloniki in collaboration with the Organisation for the Master Plan and Environmental Protection of Thessaloniki. This framework of indicators aims to support the needs of local authorities towards both assessing the state of the environment in the Greater Thessaloniki Area (GTA), as well as comparing against other areas in Greece or internationally.
