Detection of contaminants in biowaste and waste paper bins as well as detection of scrap metals in residual waste bins is "the best available technology"

Detection of contaminants in biowaste
The quality of biowaste composts is largely determined by the quality of biowaste coming from households. This separately collected biowaste usually includes contaminant content between 1 and 6%, in exceptional cases even much higher. As demonstrated by field trial and practical results: The use of detector systems can reduce the contaminant content in biowaste to less than approximately 0,5% (by weight). The high agricultural requirements placed on the compost quality can thus be met. Furthermore: Municipalities and their citizens achieve essential cost-savings.

With the Detector System "DS 2010" mounted on the garbage collection truck contaminants in the biowaste can be drastically reduced. Before the biowaste bins are emptied, they are automatically checked for contaminants and harmful substances by means of probes.

Detection of scrap metals in residual waste
Deposing more metals at recycling centres (or in the bin for reusable materials) - means increasing the revenue from metals.  Less metals in the residual waste basically means less waste collected and thus lower disposal costs.

Using the same detector system you can now also detect metal in the residual waste bin and raise the recycling rate for scrap metals. The different scrap metal grades generate increasing revenues on the secondary raw materials market, in particular for non-ferrous metals. With this approach you can achieve both benefits: reduction of waste and a significant contribution to the protection of climate and resources.
