|Main focus:||Mr. Ernst van der Stok has an academic degree in Materials Science and Engineering at Delft University of Technology, in which he obtained a broad knowledge about metals, polymers and ceramics.
During his employment at Kiwa Technology, he has performed a wide range of material related projects. In these projects he focuses on mechanical, chemical and physical tests of various materials like PE, PB, PA, POM, PVC, copper and steel. Trouble shooting and failure analysis of (plastic) pipelines and joints is an important part of his work. The application areas he concentrates on are gas, water and heat distribution.
Since 2008 he is active in several national and international standardisation committees and workgroups, mainly within ISO/TC138 (“Plastics pipes, fittings and valves for the transport of fluids”), subcommittees 4 (“gaseous fuels”) and 5 (“test methods and basic specifications”). He is currently chairman of ISO/TC138/SC4.
Furthermore, he works as (substitute) instructor for Kiwa Training. The courses include the specialist (and surveyor) level of cathodic protection for metal piping systems and various courses for the study “Advanced Gas Distribution Technology”.
