Supercritical water gasification in pilot-scale unit ZAHYKORMA

A pilot-scale experimental unit for the tests of the supercritical water gasification is being operated in the Czech Republic.

It is a continuous technology which can work with pressure and temperature up to 26 MPa and 550°C, respectively.In our contribution, we would like to present both results and interesting practical experiences obtained during the operation of the supercritical facility. As most interesting Topic sfor the presentation, we selected for example: heat-transfer parameters of the main recuperation heat exchanger, energy balance and conversion efficiency achieved in the pilot scale unit. Many of the results and experiences presented are not simply available from literature or from laboratory studies. Thus, such results are highly-valuable for everybody who would try to move with the supercritical water gasification technology from laboratory scale to the real industrial conditions and generally, for everybody who want to deal with any supercritical
water-employing technology in practical scale.
